The Instructors
Jill Fleming began her movement training as a competitive gymnast. She graduated from NYU School of Ed. with a BA in Special Ed. and an MS in Exercise Physiology and Phys. Ed. Jill studied Spacial Dynamics, completing the 5-year in-service training course in 2001. Jill taught PE to children in grades 2-12 at the Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School for 11 years. She coached acrobatics and aerial arts at the Berkshire Children’s Circus Camp in Pittsfield and has produced 10 youth circus performances in the Berkshire Taconic region, including Circus Berserkus at Simon’s Rock Collage and the Carnivale Community Circus at the Hawthorne Valley School Spring fair fundraiser. Jill is also a certified personal fitness trainer as well as a Kripalu trained yoga instructor. She brings her expertise and joy to teaching and has been encouraging children, including her own 3, to express themselves through movement for over twenty years.
Laura Geilen trained in dance at the Boston Conservatory of Music, has a BA in Human Services from Lesley University, and is a graduate of the Spacial Dynamics Institute and the Camphill Social Therapy Training. Her playfulness and love of clowning led her to create a Village Circus of 100 people where she discovered the potential of community renewal and growth through Circus Arts. Besides being the mother of four she teaches dance, therapeutic movement, Spacial Dynamics, acro-yoga, circus arts and clowning to kids, adults and special needs groups throughout the Berkshire/Taconic area. Laura is a member of Walking the Dog Theater’s Off Leash! improv ensemble www.wtdtheater.org and trains in clowning with Nose to Nose of the UK. www.nosetonose.info
